Not a normal Tuesday

Tuesdays are not like the other days of the week. It is the most scheduled day of my week. Coffee group in the morning. Games (scrabble & yahtzee!) in the afternoon with my mom and some of her friends.

Today had something new. Some of the coffee group went to the Minnesota Wild hockey practice after coffee.

I’ve always been impressed by the skills hockey players demonstrate on the ice. The constant high speed movements, both forwards and backwards, fast direction changes, and working magic with a small rubber puck.

The drills they ran were organized chaos. Skaters, half in black jerseys, half in white, sprinting all over the ice. Multiple pucks flying across the ice, through the air, and slamming into the boards like a gunshot.

Except for a couple of brief kneel-downs to listen to the coach, the players were moving the entire time. Practice was only an hour, but they moved more than any other sports practice I’ve seen.

Pretty impressive…
