Making Donuts

Making donuts is one of my wife’s family traditions. Her mom made them for years and today, the granddaughters are coming over to start learning. Not that they know that, they just think they are helping.

These aren’t the fancy frosted donuts you buy at the store and regret about 3/4 of the way through. These are basic tasty cake donuts that taste great on their own.

Her mom use to make them and then put them in the freezer to have for when company came to visit. The kids all figured out where they were and would snitch from the bag. Two things came from that. First, there were always less donuts than her mom thought. And second, all the kids developed a love for frozen donuts.

It is still a thing, especially around the campfire in the morning with coffee.
