We live in a neighborhood that is filled with people who raised their kids there. We are one of the few that didn’t. People who lived in their houses for 30+ years and seen so many changes in the neighborhood and town.
Things are changing.
Last fall, a neighbor passed away and the house sits empty. Across the street, they have moved into an assisted living facility and the house sits empty. Next door, they are planning on moving soon and the house will be empty.
We will miss having that much history and wisdom so close. Sharing stories around kids and grandkids. Helping each other out with tools and tasks.
I’m eager to meet the new neighbors whoever and whenever. But I’m not a fan of saying goodbye to the old ones.
